To say May started out with a bang is an understatement!  LSAR leadership, staff and scholarship recipients spent the first week of May at NAR’s Legislative Meetings held in National Harbor, MD.  As a first timer, this event was a fantastic peek into the lives of Realtors and fellow association staff. Seeing our leadership and members further their knowledge of the hot issues, economic trends, emerging technology, and networking was a privilege!  Most importantly, I had a firsthand seat to see YOUR fellow members share concerns they are hearing from CLIENTS with Congressman Stauber’s Deputy Chief of Staff.  We had two scholarship recipients this year that will be share their experience as well as what they learned at the meetings. Stay tuned for that!

One of the topics brought up multiple times was that of Short-Term Rentals.  A topic that hits close to home as your GA Committee has been actively monitoring and commenting on these discussions occurring in the City of Two Harbors, Lake County, Cook County and Gnesen Township.  Thank you to our members who are participating in these public hearings and meetings, as well as serving on local committees!  The GA Committee is working towards a Q2 Lunch and Learn so watch for details in the coming weeks.
